SYRIA - CONFLICT - WATER

SYRIA - CONFLICT - WATER
A member of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), made up of an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters, inspects on March 29, 2017 a downed drone, reportedly belonging to the Islamic State group and being used to spy on SDF positions, at the Tabqa dam, which has been recently partially recaptured as part of their battle for the Islamic State group's stronghold in nearby Raqa. Syrian engineers were expected to carry out urgent maintenance on the country's largest dam, where US-backed fighters have been battling Islamist State group jihadists who still control most of it.
