The Geneva Free Port (Ports Francs) warehouse complex is pictured late on October 19, 2016 in Geneva.
French Finance Minister Michel Sapin on October 6, 2016 called on the Group of 20 to prevent the use of so-called "free ports" in the sale of stolen art to fund terrorism. "We have to fight the trade in works of art as part of the fight against terrorist financing," he said before a meeting of G20 finance ministers, held in conjunction with annual meetings in Washington of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
