The Custos of the Holy Land Francesco Patton (R), carries the Relic of the Holy Crib of the Child Jesus during a procession to the St Saviour Franciscan church in Jerusalem's Old City on November 29, 2019 opening the celebrations of the arrival of the relic, a gift from the Pope Francis to the Custody of the Holy Land. The relic, donated by then-Patriarch of Jerusalem Saint Sophronius to Pope Theodore I (642-649), was at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore of Rome. The relic will be transferred to Bethlehem on November 30, coinciding with the start of Advent celebrations at the Franciscan church of St Catherine.
